About Our Frame Orders

About Our Frame Orders - MaxBotix
A frame order gives our customers the benefit of pricing reductions for scheduled shipments. Our pricing structure is simple in the fact that it is driven by volume. If you are able to make the commitment to the quantity, we are able to order larger volumes and acquire larger discounts which we pass onto you.

Our pricing breaks are at the following quantities:

  • 5 Units
  • 10 Units
  • 25 Units
  • 50 Units
  • 100 Units
  • 500 Units
  • 1000 Units
  • 5000 Units
  • 10,000 Units
  • 25,000 Units
  • 50,000 Units
  • 75,000 Units
  • 100,000 Units

Time Frame

We find 6 months to be the right timeline for most customers however it can go up to 12 months. We require all shipments of the frame order to be completed within 12 months.

Payment Requirements

When a frame order is placed, there is a 25% non-refundable down payment required for the order.

Once this down payment is received, the lead time for the order starts and all shipments are scheduled according to the shipping schedule.

An invoice for the 75% remaining balance for each shipment is issues about 2 weeks prior to the shipment date to allow for processing time.

Frame Order Extension or Reduction of Quantity

You can extend a frame order to secure the next tier of pricing at any point in the frame order.

If you extend the frame order, the pricing discount is not retroactive and will only be applied to unshipped product because we were not able to use this "extended" quantity in our ordering.

You can also decrease a frame order or cancel it.

We audit the order to verify the volume pricing you qualified for.

The difference in the amount charged and the amount you qualified for is then removed from your 25% down payment.

Any remaining funds can remain on the account as a credit for future orders.

Some limitations may apply if the frame order is for a custom part number.

When to use a Frame Order vs a Single Order

Frame orders are meant for productions or known sensor consumption rate in which the customer know they can make a commitment to take sensors.

Frame orders are not recommended for R&D, proof of concept, or the initial stages of a project before the ramp stage is on a stable growth pattern.

We find there is too much risk on the customer side to make the financial commitment early on in the project.

We had experienced a number of customers order only a few of the committed sensors and then stop ordering due to the project not moving forward.

The 25% down payment helps ensure that both the customer and MaxBotix are comfortable to move forward with the production as scheduled.
